Retail Futurist, 22&5
Howard has worked in retail design for over twenty five years. As a former Creative Director of
Fitch, based in London, he was responsible for design and branding and for creating multidisciplinary
teams of architects, graphic designers, product designers and copywriters and
making them all work together!
Howard has worked closely with Johnson & Johnson, Waitrose and Westfield for over a decade
keeping them informed of the latest retail trends, shifts in customer expectations and helping
develop new store concepts. His work with Westfield, for example, culminated in the creation
of the artisan Great Eastern Market at Westfield Stratford.
Now based in New York, Howard’s international clients include CBRE, The Consumer Goods
Forum, Ebay Enterprise, L’Occitane, Magento, Mothercare, Oracle, Permira, Telstra and the
prestigious Westfield World Trade Center.
As an international speaker and Retail Futurist, Howard’s talks are lively, highly visual journeys
that predict the developing shape of retail and what it will mean for cities, retailers and most
importantly, our communities. He is known for being provocative, challenging, brutally honest,
evidence based and thoroughly entertaining.
